Melissa Parmley Smith is a physical therapist and the CEO of Play-Based Physical Therapy, Inc. She received her training in pediatric physical therapy from Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite. She earned a B.S. degree in Physical Therapy from Georgia State University in Atlanta, where she was honored as Outstanding Student of her graduating class. Melissa has been an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association, including the Pediatric section, since 1996. In addition to running her own private physical therapy practice, Melissa is also the Executive Director of the Kiwanis Orthopedic Clinic. The Kiwanis Orthopedic Clinic provides comprehensive orthopedic care to children from Washington, D.C., who are uninsured, underinsured, or who do not have adequate access to the care they need.
